Friends around the World


Friends are found pretty much all over the world. The first Quakers arrived into what is now called the United States in 1656. There are approximately 400,000 people who would identify themselves as members of the Society of Friends / Friends church. The majority of Friends are found in Kenya. Africa makes up the largest percentage of Friends at 52%. North America constitutes the next largest area with Friends at 20%.The Caribbean and Latin America represent 15%, 6% are found in the Asia – West Pacific region and 7% can be found throughout Europe and the Middle East.
